About the Gallery
Our Mission
We use the power of the arts to raise awareness of the social, ecological, and spiritual challenges we all face. Through exhibitions and community programming, we cultivate connection, reflection, and transformation.
History
Founded in 2008, Spirit in the House was created to support interfaith dialogue through the arts.
Our first Executive Director, Rev. Dean J. Seal, envisioned the organization as a way to build understanding across faith traditions using accessible, artistic expression.
One of our earliest projects was Forgiveness 360, a video series exploring conversations around healing and reconciliation. These powerful, personal stories have been shared across public television and community platforms.
In 2016, a new board was elected and the organization refined its mission to focus on the spiritual, ecological, and social evolution of our communities through Arts Ministry.
A Ministry of the Arts
Our current focus is The Sower Gallery, an arts ministry located within Shepherd of the Hill Church. Named for Van Gogh’s painting The Sower, the gallery is a space where seeds of creativity and compassion are scattered and nurtured.
This “fertile ground for the arts” serves as a spiritual and artistic outreach—welcoming artists and visitors of all backgrounds to explore the God-within creativity that lives in each of us.
